Permanent Makeup
Permanent Makeup is ideal to create a natural looking brow where there is little or no hair. The eyes can be opened up by subtle addition of soft eyeliner, and definition and emphasis can be added to the lips with a gentle touch of colour.
So what is Permanent Make-up?
Permanent cosmetic makeup is the art and science of implanting colour into your skin. Sometimes you will see permanent make-up referred to as ‘cosmetic tattooing’ or 'semi-permanent make-up, as the result can fade over time. We use specialised sterile instruments to place hypoallergenic colour pigments into the deeper layer of skin. Over a 10 day period, the colour will slowly fade as it is naturally exfoliated from your skin, leaving the true colour embedded in the dermis. You will need to return one month later for a complimentary control procedure, during which the colour may be balanced if necessary.
How Long Does it Take to Have a Treatment?
You will need to allow 3 hours for your first procedure. If you intend to have a "full face" (3 procedures together) then you should allow 5 hours in total. You will need to book in your complimentary “fine tuning” refill treatment 4 weeks after your initial treatment to perfect the result.
Will I really look like myself...Only Better?
Permanent makeup helps to give you back precious time you normally spend “putting on your face”. You can save up to 100 hours in a single year struggling to draw eyebrows evenly or eyeliner half-way straight. Plus the money you’ll save buying new and expensive cosmetics that rub off, smear, smudge and disappear during the day. Permanent make-up is not intended to replace cosmetics completely. Because the colour is placed “in” your skin and not “on” your skin a more natural, softer look results. When you’re ready to kick up your heels and go out for a night-on-the-town, you can apply as much additional makeup as you wish.
Does permanent make up hurt?
New topical anaesthetics have been developed especially for permanent makeup for eyeliner, eyebrows and lipcolour procedures. These creams and gels are applied to the desired area before and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. Some people describe the sensation as a “tingling” feeling. Most people experience some discomfort, especially for lip colour procedures. It is common to hear that there was not as much pain as was expected.
How long will it take to recover?
You’ll look like you’ve had a good cry for a couple of hours following eyeliner.
Eyebrow procedures have the least swelling. Lipcolour often involves temporary swelling. You will need to let your technician know if you have a history of cold sores so you use an antiviral cream eg. Zovirax for a few days prior to the procedure
How long will my permanent makeup last?
Permanent make-up is long-lasting approximately 6 to 9 years. The darker the colour, such as black, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. Natural, delicate colours are oftentimes more vulnerable to the effects of sun, swimming and breakdown by the body.
